COPD Pathway - Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programmes

Pulmonary rehabilitation programme is twice a week, for 8 weeks supervised by a physiotherapist and physio assistant/nurse.

Patients eligible for the programme are those with:

  • A diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
  • Requirement for close monitoring of exercise and risk reduction therapy.
  • An impairment that could benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • A medical clearance/GP referral.


Community Programme
Per year: Five 8 week programmes per year for Mainstream
Three modified rolling programmes per year for Maori
