Community providers can gain access to the DHB’s Clinical Health Information Portal (CHIP) to view information regarding patient for whom they are caring. Access has been enabled via two routes:
To gain access users must have completed a user agreement available along with other information here.
Access from the patient management system is via BPAC Patient Prompt or from the BPAC home page. Once logged into your PMS and into BPAC no further user names or passwords are necessary. The link will take you directly to the patient that you have open within the PMS.
Access via the internet is via a link at the top of the page on this website.
Within CHIP, clinicians can view information such as lab test results, discharge summaries, clinic letters and future appointments. In addition, community pharmacy dispensing data is now available so that clinicians can see exactly what medications have been collected from the pharmacy.
The BOP Information Systems group is currently looking at how general practice data might be made available to hospital based clinicians to improve their ability to provide safe and appropriate care.
