Characterised by prodrome, situation, and recovery symptoms.


Consider common drugs causing hypotension:

  • Alpha blockers¬†e.g. Terazosin
  • Tricyclic antidepressants
  • Diuretics in elderly
  • Dihydropyridines - Felodipine, Amlodipine
  • Parkinson treatment

Consider drugs causing arrhythmia:

  • Sotalol, Flecainide, Amiodorone


Postural Hypotension

Check lying and standing BP


Characterised by - amnesia, myalgia, postictal phase

Vestibular dysfunction

Characterised by - no loss of consciousness, nausea, positional

Advanced Age
