Pledge to make a change now and celebrate Change Day – 16th March 2016.
Change Day is about you pledging to help improve the healthcare experience for every kiwi. It’s about individuals taking action albeit small steps that can collectively bring about big changes. This may sound like a gimmick but it is an opportunity for all of us to think what simple things we could do to improve outcomes for our patients.
For example my pledge this year is to work with my practice to introduce a patient portal so that our patients can take greater control of their healthcare. Last year’s pledge was to try to check patient’s understanding of our consultation on a more consistent basis.
Those interested in taking the next step of developing their pledge into an improvement project can contact me at the DHB about training that is available to support you. The DHB is funding clinicians from across the DHB to undertake Model of Improvement training which is an online course run by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement.
