Tranexamic Acid

 

First line treatment option

Acceptable first line treatment in those who wish to conceive as it is taken at the start of the menstrual cycle only and therefore  does not interfere with efforts to conceive or have effects on the embryo 

Tranexamic Acid

 

NSAIDs

 

Some evidence to suggest naproxen and Mefenamic acid are the most effective

Also useful if associated dysmenorrhoea

Can be prescribed in combination with TA to increase efficacy
