How to Refer TIA/stroke patients – Eastern Bay only

If you are a GP in Eastern BOP and have a patient who you think has had a TIA or a stroke, please call the on-duty physician or APU registrar (or ED if after hours) for advice and acute referral.

Referral to clinic or outpatients is not appropriate, since these patients have a crucial 2-week window during which they need to be worked up and potentially treated.
