Orthopaedic outpatients/fracture clinic

Q. Have you ever seen ‘SOS’ on a discharge from the orthopaedic outpatient clinic and wondered what it meant?

A. If the patient is having any problems then they can ring the clinic themselves and book an appointment; if it is within a six-week period of the last clinic appointment. But, if it is after the six-week period, they will need to be re-referred.
